Mess Free Finger Painting

Mess Free Finger Painting

I have always been a craft lover.  I vividly remember  a conversation I had with my mom when I was a first grader.   She asked me how my day at school had been.  I replied, "It was the worst day ever...we didn't do a single art project!"

Now that I'm a mom I obviously want my kids to be able to enjoy crafts but I'm also trying to keep my house and my kiddos clean.  We don't always have the time to deal with the aftermath of a big craft project.

Well, here's a craft with no compromises.  You can do it with things you probably already have around the house.  All you need is:
  1. A gallon sized Ziplock bag
  2. A bottle of paint
  3. Some Duct tape
Pour some paint into the baggie leaving room so that they can squish the paint around with their fingers, close the bag, and tape it to a window or glass door that is within your child's reach. From there just let them go to town finger painting to their hearts content!  All of the mess in contained inside the bag! It's all the fun of finger painting with the added effect of the sun shining through to accentuate their designs.

My daughter especially loves it when I'll write words in the paint.  She tells me a word she wants to see and then I write it for her so she can see which letters go into which words.  You could cater this to whatever your child is currently learning.

Happy painting!

XOXO,
