Sun’s out, schools out, patience is out, and I’m sick of being in! I get this way every year, but this year especially. Anyone else feeling like 2020 has been a doozy already? There is no better time to get out in the sunshine, enjoy the fresh air, and relieve some of that built-up stress then right now. The sun is shining and nature is calling!
I’m sure you know that being outside is good for you. Besides just breathing in the fresh air, and getting exercise, being outside has some major health benefits!
Here are just a few ways of being outside is good for you:
- It supplies Vitamin D, which prevents diseases such as diabetes, auto-immune disorders, multiple sclerosis, and heart disease.
- It improves your sleep, by getting your body's natural schedule back in sync with the sun.
- It also improves mental health, by increasing attention span and boosting serotonin (the feel-good neurotransmitter).
But I’ve decided to take things to the next level this year. I’ve started jogging. I kid you not. Words I never thought that I would dare utter, but it is true. To be honest, I’ve actually enjoyed it a ton. And if you thought being outside had a lot of benefits, jogging has even more:
- It builds stronger bones
- It helps you live longer
- It reduces the risk of cancer
- It boosts the immune system- that’s right, take that COVID-19
My whole family has taken to the pavement in this jogging craze, and a good double jogging stroller has been essential. The Bob Revolution Flex Duallie 3.0 Double Jogging Stroller is the perfect stroller to get you out and going. This double stroller provides a smooth and comfortable ride for two children. It’s also compatible with several infant car seats (with coordinating adapters), which is a huge bonus. It’s also loaded with features that will make you fall in love--the all-terrain wheels are great for getting on the trails, the front wheel can swivel for top maneuverability or lock for added stability, and the mountain bike-style suspension system takes bumps in stride.
My family has loved getting outside, in fact we’ve really come to need it during these times of social-distancing. It has provided stability and grounding, and we’ve loved hitting the pavement and putting some miles on our stroller.
I hope you will take some time for yourself, or even for your family, and get outside this week, nature is calling!
