Today we have a fun roundup of "edible" art projects that you can do at home with your kiddos. Obviously they aren't for your kids to snack on, just safe if they do (and lets face it---it happens...)
This yogurt silly putty from Smart School House is great because it only takes 2 ingredients that you probably already have at home. It has a texture somewhere between slime and play dough. Bonus--it smells like fruit (who doesn't love that??)
We love this tried and true play dough recipe from Surviving a Teacher's Salary. It uses Kool Aid to create bright, fun colors that your kids will love. It also uses non-perishable ingredients so you can store it and play with it multiple times. This one too, smells amazing.
This finger paint from Raising Little Superheroes is super innovative because it's made of vanilla pudding. Just add some food coloring, lay out a plastic table cloth or some paper with your Gathre mat underneath, and let your kids go to town!
I always love finding new activities for my toddler. It can make all the difference between a good day and a bad one! I've always found the a clean area always makes for a happy momma at the end of each activity though, so make sure you check out these leather bonded Gathre Mats. They have a size for every activity! (I definitely recommend a darker one for these kinds of activities.) I hope these ideas inspire your sensory play today! XOXO,
